Hello, and welcome to the site.
People and Noise is where I’ll be writing about my interests and passions, rambling about personal experiences, and maybe showcasing a few things I’ve done along the way. The name is inspired by the things that excite me most, people and music. There’s also a nod to my communications work in there, as noise is the term given to anything that interferes with communication. In short, it occured to me that I spent most of my time thinking about people and noise, so I decided to call the site that.
As suggested to the top right, I’m currently living in Peru, where I’m working on communications with indigenous groups. In the UK I’m better known for my events work however, having created and run two of the biggest and most successful clubs in Sheffield (The Tuesday Club and Urban Gorilla) as well as working at a number of major festivals (WOMAD, Big Chill etc).
This site is very much a work in progress, and you may find a few extra bits and bobs appearing in future once I find my way around wordpress.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy your time here. Please feel free to leave comments or otherwise get involved.
All the best,
Tom
